In the event that I ever need to discuss your case with your doctor or another referring party or agency, I will advise you first and obtain your written consent. However, please be aware that Medicare reports and associated information are routinely provided as part of the referral process.

There are some extremely rare circumstances where I can be obliged under Australian law to surrender otherwise confidential information, specifically where a person’s safety or well-being is at risk, or where a court subpoena is served on me. This, as I say, is extremely rare.
